What a good consultation actually does
This quiz is the short version of a conversation we would rather have in person. When you come in, the same ground gets covered properly.
- It digs into what has been on your hair
- Box dye, a dark gloss, a perm — even faded, the pigment is still in the strand and it changes what lightener does. This is the question people forget, not the one they lie about.
- It replaces adjectives with photographs
- “Ashy”, “caramel” and “golden” mean different things to different people. We point at a specific part of your photo and check we mean the same thing — and a photo of what you definitely do not want is just as useful.
- It looks at the hair, not just the picture
- Porosity and elasticity decide whether hair can take lightener at all. Density and texture decide whether a cut, a placement or an extension method will sit right. That is a judgement made on your head, not over the phone.
- It checks the plan against your life
- Bright to the root is a four-to-six week rhythm. If you are honestly coming in twice a year, we will say so and point you at something that grows out softly instead.
- It is willing to say not yet
- Black box dye to platinum in one sitting is how hair breaks. Where it needs several sessions we map them out and quote the whole journey, so the number is not a surprise halfway through.
