The journey

From booking to your visit

Nothing here is one-size-fits-all, which is why the visit has four stages rather than one.

  1. Book

Book online in a couple of taps, or call if you would rather sort it out by phone — whatever is easiest. Either way you get everything you need to know before your first visit.

  2. Consultation

We go through your hair history, what you are after, and what is realistically achievable in one visit versus over time — including timing and what it will cost before anything is mixed. For most first appointments this happens in the first five to ten minutes of the time you have already booked. For a big change, extensions, a colour correction, a perm or bridal work, it is booked separately and runs about half an hour.

    • Bring Two to four inspiration photos, and your honest hair history
  3. In the chair

Everything from the consultation gets carried out here. Your stylist works to the plan you agreed rather than improvising, whether that is colour, a cut, or an extension install.

    • Bring A book, your laptop, snacks — whatever helps you settle in. Colour can run three hours or more, and there is free WiFi
  4. Aftercare

Your results are built to last, and they last longer with the right care at home. Your stylist takes you through how to look after the colour or the extensions — the products, and the habits that protect the result.

When a consultation is needed

Do I need a consultation first?

No — just book the service

  • A cut, a blow-out, a root touch-up or a straightforward all-over colour. Most first appointments are one of these.
  • You are not skipping a step by booking straight in. The talking happens at the start of the appointment you have already booked.

Yes — book the consultation first

  • A big change: dark to platinum, or cutting a lot of length off in one go.
  • Extensions, a colour correction, a perm, or bridal work — extension hair has to be ordered to your shade, so it cannot be bought on the day.
  • Hair that is damaged, thinning, or a scalp you are worried about. We would rather look at it properly than guess with you in the chair.

Either way it is free and you are not committed to anything. If you are not sure which side you fall on, the two-minute hair match will tell you what to book, or call (587) 273-1668 and ask. Full booking details.

What the work looks like

From the chair

Colour, cutting and extension work from our floor — so you can see the standard before you sit in it.

Finding us

Same address, separate books

Unit 120 is a shared studio. Three independent businesses work out of it, so the first thing to know is which one you booked with — tell reception and you will be pointed to the right chair. We cannot see, change or cancel an appointment made with one of our neighbours.

Booking hair and nails on the same trip works well — book the hair first, since colour is the long one and sets the shape of the day, then book nails around it. Leave a buffer either side of a colour service; lightening can run over. Same door, same parking, one arrival.

The lounge · Est. 2017

A specialist colour studio, and the collective around it.

Hello Beauty Lounge has worked out of Unit 120 since 2017 — a small, specialised team led by founder and master stylist Noon K, built around blonde work, lived-in colour and hand-tied extensions.

Hello Beauty Lounge is an independent, woman-owned and Asian-owned business. Noon opened it in 2017 and still works the floor alongside the team.

The lounge itself was designed around three lit archways, with the chairs facing the light rather than a wall of product, and the bowls set at the back away from the door.

Our backbar is a considered curation rather than a full brand wall. Kevin.Murphy Washes, Rinses and styling infusions bring skincare-grade formulation to the bowl, and K18 bio-peptides deliver molecular bond repair on every lightening service.

The practical bits

Before you come in

Parking and getting in

Free parking at the door, same lot for the whole building. The salon is wheelchair accessible throughout — step-free entrance, accessible parking, restroom and seating. If anything else would make your visit easier, tell us when you book and we will set it up beforehand.

Tell us your hair history

Everything, including the box dye. We are not going to judge you for it, but we do need to know — box colour, henna and metallic dyes react differently with lightener, and that changes what is safe to do on the day.

Walk-ins, pricing and paying

Walk-ins are welcome whenever a chair is free, but colour needs booking. We price by the length and density of your hair rather than by gender. Visa, MasterCard and debit, taken at the end. Full policies.

For your first visit

What to bring, and what to ask

What to bring

  • Two to four inspiration photos that capture the exact look you are after — not a mood, a result.
  • Your honest hair history. Past colour, treatments, box dye, and anything else we should know. We are not going to judge you for any of it.
  • Snacks. Optional but encouraged — a colour appointment can run three hours or more.

Things to ask your stylist

  • How often will I need to come back to maintain this?
  • How should I care for it at home?
  • How long should I set aside for this appointment?
  • With my lifestyle, is this hair realistic for me?

“Another great haircut by Melissa! So glad she listens to what I want before starting the cut. And answers my questions about what she’s doing. I’ll definitely be back!”
